Avenged Sevenfold announced as first headliner for Download 2014!
Avenged Sevenfold, one of the mightiest forces in modern rock, have today been announced as the first headliner for Download Festival 2014. Friday 13th June 2014 will mark a momentous occasion in the history of Avenged Sevenfold as they continue their tradition of spectacular Download performances, by becoming headliners for the very first time, not just at Download, but at any UK festival.
Over the course of the last 14 years, Avenged Sevenfold have grown to be one of the biggest names in heavy music. Consistently releasing ground breaking, genre defying music, the band have written and recorded some of the best and most acclaimed rock albums of the 21st Century, each different to but equally as brilliant as it’s predecessor. Their breath-taking live shows have garnered an unshakeable reputation as one of the most must-see bands in the world. Their most recent studio album, ‘Hail To The King’, was the band’s first to hit the #1 spot in the UK and their second to top the Billboard charts in the US. Download history is sure to be made when they take their rightful place as UK festival headliner for the first time on the hallowed turf of Donington Park.
Joining Avenged Sevenfold on the first day of Download 2014 will be none other than the overlord of all things horror metal, Rob Zombie. After an utterly incredible performance headlining the 2nd stage back in 2011, he will be making a welcome return, this time to the main stage, to blow fans away with what is bound to be another undeniably spectacular performance.
Produced by Live Nation, the world’s leading live entertainment company, Download Festival has grown to be the second biggest festival in Europe. Over its 12 years, Download has garnered the reputation of providing fans with the very best the world of rock has to offer. The Download community has become one of the most loyal fan bases in the world, establishing the festival as a destination not only for great music, but to build lifelong friendships with likeminded people.
