BBC Music will celebrate the legacy of Reading and Leeds festival with a weekend of live music and entertainment from August 28th – 30th, 2020 when this year’s festival was due to take place. BBC Sounds, BBC Music Introducing, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 1Xtra will be joining forces to bring the magic of Reading and Leeds to music fans in the UK and around the world.

Between midday and midnight from Friday – Sunday, fans will also be able to enjoy a range of classic performances from across the festival’s stages. BBC iPlayer channel will be streaming archived live sets from the festival’s history, with performances from Anne Marie, Biffy Clyro, Charli XCX, Enter Shikari, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Sigrid, Stefflon Don, The Libertines, Pale Waves, The 1975, and many more to be announced. There will be also available selection of performances from the BBC Music Introducing Stage.

BBC Four will broadcast highlights from last year’s headline set from rock titans Foo Fighters at Reading Festival (Friday night, 12am-2am). On Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm on Radio 1, Dev and Jordan North will host two special shows featuring some of their favourite past live performances from Reading and Leeds, including Billie Eilish and The 1975, while on Sunday, Dan P Carter and Jack Saunders will go head to head with some of their favourite rock and indie tracks from artists who have performed over the years at the festival.

On Monday August 31st, Radio 1’s Rock Show will cover the slot for Radio 1’s Future Sounds with Annie Mac (7pm-9pm), with Dan P Carter playing out more festival highlights from some of the biggest rock acts who have graced the stages.

Over on BBC Radio 1Xtra, fans can tune in throughout the day on Friday and Saturday to hear select live tracks from 1Xtra artists at Reading and Leeds over the years, including AJ Tracey, J Hus and Wizkid.
