Good Charlotte announce UK tour for November/December!
Following on from their set at this weekend’s Download Festival, perennial US pop-punks Good Charlotte have announced a string of UK dates in November/December in support of their new album Youth Authority, which was released last year.
Formed in the mid-90s, Good Charlotte have six albums and two collaborations under their belt. The band was integral in establishing a global critical mass for the pop-punk genre. Their 2000 self-titled debut laid the foundation with the singles Little Things and Festival Song. Then in 2002, the breakthrough success of The Young and the Hopeless catapulted pop-punk into the stratosphere and set them on the path to worldwide superstardom. They’ve followed with multi-platinum albums including The Chronicles of Life and Death (2004) and Good Morning Revival (2007). After the most recent release Cardiology (2010), the band needed to take a breather. The Madden brothers focused on the fully-functional recording studio they own and operate in the heart of Hollywood and also serve as coaches on the highly-rated Australian version of The Voice.
In November 2015, Good Charlotte returned with a new song Makeshift Love, a classic anthem that unabashedly screams early 2000s. Recorded with longtime writer/producer John Feldmann, the infectious song captures the vibe that made GC so revered. 2016 was a monumental year for the band – it saw their highly anticipated live return with dates around the world including a UK tour with All Time Low, a scorching summer run of dates on the Vans Warped Tour, festival performances and a US headline tour. On 15th July 2016 they’ve released a critically acclaimed sixth studio album Youth Authority via the their own indie label MDDN, distributed worldwide through Kobalt.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 16th. Support acts will be announced later, closer to the time of the tour.
