Nova Rock club night with Amon Amarth, Anthrax and Skillet!
Festival Nova Rock goes to west part of Austria and for the first time will present special warm up club night. On the event, just 2 days before the festival itself, will perform bands SKILLET, ANTHRAX and headliner of the evening – AMON AMARTH! Nova Rock club night will take place on Tuesday, June 7th in Event Center in Hohenems. Tickets are sold on www.oeticket.com.
AMON AMARTH – Swedish death metal band Amon Amarth was originally formed in 1988 under the name Scum; by the time the new moniker was adopted four years later. After 2 demo records and 1 EP, the band has released their debut album Once Sent from the Golden Hall in 1998. Through their carrer, Amon Amarth has released 9 studio albums. Their 2008’s record Twilight of the Thunder God became the band’s most critically acclaimed and commercially successful outing to date. In March 2016, Amon Amarth are set to release their 10th full-length record Jomsviking.
Amon Amarth is currently play in line up – Johan Hegg (vocals), Olavi Mikkonen (guitar), Ted Lundström (bass) and Johan Söderberg (drums).
ANTHRAX – Nearly as much as Metallica or Megadeth, Anthrax were responsible for the emergence of speed and thrash metal. Combining the speed and fury of hardcore punk with the prominent guitars and vocals of heavy metal, they helped create a new subgenre of heavy metal on their early albums. Original guitarists Scott Ian and Dan Spitz were a formidable pair, spitting out lightning-fast riffs and solos that never seemed masturbatory. Unlike Metallica or Megadeth, they had the good sense to temper their often serious music with a healthy dose of humor and realism.
In February the band has released their 11th studio album, For All Kings. Anthrax is currently on tour with Iron Maiden, as a support band during the Latin American leg of their Book of Souls World Tour.
SKILLET – platinum disc holders for their album ‘Awake’, winners at the Billboard Music Awards, nominated for several Grammy Awards, millions of views on YouTube… Since they got together in 1996 they have undergone several changes in their line-up. The current composition of John Cooper (founding member), Korey Cooper, Jen Ledger and Seth Morisson stabilised in 2011, and two years later they released the album ‘Rise’. They are currently in the studio working on a new album.
