BBC-R1-Ibiza-2019

BBC Radio in Ibiza has become a true White Isle institution. Marking the peak of the summer it has been key within the dance music scene for decades bringing avid listeners the latest and greatest electronic music from the party capital of the world year after year.

Ibiza Rocks and BBC Radio have a long and illustrious relationship dating back to the very first days that the UK radio station descended on the island. Over the years the iconic venue has hosted some of the biggest names from Calvin Harris to David Guetta, Carl Cox to Deadmau5 and created stand out moments remembered far beyond the island. Who can forget the goosebump inducing moment Florence and the Machine performed You’ve Got the Love, as the sunset or when Faithless dropped the epic Insomnia LIVE?

Ibiza Rocks is about energy, it’s about youth, it’s about creating moments and that spirit is what the BBC Radios Weekend is all about. So welcome back Annie Mac and Danny Howard, and see you poolside!

For listeners at home, Radio 1 and 1Xtra Summer in Ibiza will be broadcast from 7-11pm on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, radio’s websites, BBC Sounds and viewers can watch on BBC Radio 1’s iPlayer channel.
