BBC Radio 1 dance show

BBC Radio 1’s relationship with dance music stems back 24 years when it first broadcast on the white isle of Ibiza where it continues its legacy to this day. Now dubbed the busiest weekend of the year, audiences can expect live sets from the biggest international DJs including David Guetta, Kolsch, Fatboy Slim and Carl Cox. Since then, the station has dedicated programming championed by dance stalwarts Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, as well as inviting the biggest names in cutting edge, forward-thinking dance music into the studio on a monthly rotation for Radio 1’s Residency.

This is going to be a real radio event! Having seven countries showcasing the best dance music from their country is absolutely the best way it can delivered. I’m proud BBC Radio 1 partnered with seven other radio stations and I can’t wait to hear it!” says Head of Programmes, BBC Radio 1, Aled Haydn-Jones.

Annie Mac adds: “I’m looking forward to being part of such an exciting collaboration with our broadcasting partners. It’s going to be like nothing we’ve ever done before and I can’t wait for the listeners to hear what we have planned.
