Fall Out Boy teasing a new album with brand new track Young and Menace!
Following a week of enigmatic posts and buzz across social media, Fall Out Boy have today dropped a new song called Young and Menace, from their forthcoming seventh studio album MANIA, set to be released on September 15th on Island Records/DCD2 Records.
Fall Out Boy’s bassist & lyricist Pete Wentz comments: “There’s a lyric in the song, ‘trying to send the world a message, I was young and a menace,’ that reminded me of growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. I didn’t look like anyone there or feel like anyone – I felt like an outsider in my own town. It wasn’t until I discovered punk rock and that community that I realized I did fit in somewhere in this world with the other people who didn’t fit in. It’s hard to rationalize rage, it’s hard to quantify anxiety… this song does neither, it embraces the wave…”
MANIA is the follow-up album to the band’s platinum-certified American Beauty/American Psycho, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 upon its January 2015 release.
Fall Out Boy will embark on a 20-city North American fall arena tour, kicking off in Cleveland, OH on October 20. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 5th. Special guest for the tour will be announced at a later date.
