Foo Fighters, Die Toten Hosen and Slipknot at jubilee Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in 2015!
The new era of Rock am Ring at Mendig airfield and its twin festival Rock im Park will be opened with exclusive performances by Foo Fighters and Die Toten Hosen. The eagerly awaited premiere of the open-air season from 5 to 7 June 2015 will feature full blast of rock for the 30th anniversary of Rock am Ring and the 20th anniversary of Rock im Park in Nuremberg. Fans can expect a spectacular line-up with Slipknot, Rise Against and Motörhead as well as the best of the best of German rock music: Beatsteaks, Kraftklub and Broilers! Also confirmed in the first wave are: In Flames, Frank Turner, The Sleeping Souls and Parkway Drive, Lamb of God, Donots, Papa Roach, Trailerpark, Asking Alexandria, Callejon and Turbostaat.
For the first time at Ring and Park – the phenomenal Foo Fighters, celebrating two decades of their impressive biography. The perfect international headliner with charismatic frontman Dave Grohl will send ahead the siren call for their festival cycle with the release of their new album Sonic Highways on November 10.
Die Toten Hosen, the most successful German rock band, of course does not want to miss out on the Centerstages for their legendary performances. The band didn’t think twice when asked if they wanted to be part of the opening of the legendary Rock am Ring festival at its new location.
While the anniversary party for Rock im Park will be held at the established popular Nuremberg Zeppelinfeld grounds, Rock am Ring is about to start a new chapter in the history of the most popular German open-air festival in Mendig. Mendig airfield in the Volcanic Eifel is the new home of Rock am Ring. The unique festival grounds mark a new dimension.
The 190-hectare green compound is nestled in a natural environment and provides room for fan enthusiasm and an innovative staging of the festival. Free from space restrictions, all Ring rockers will now be able to camp on the airfield. Long, complicated walks to the festival grounds will be a matter of the past. Once arrived, visitors can stay until the very end.
Mendig will offer fans a public area of more than 200,000 m² in front of two huge open-air stages and two tent stages. This is much more space than at any other festival. Generous, mixed zones in front of the camping grounds will offer ample opportunity for chilling and a broad spectrum of catering. Additional incentives are provided in the form of art objects and installations as well as various other attractions.
A limited number of 3-day early-bird festival tickets are sold for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park from 6 October 2014 at a price of 160,-€ incl. parking, camping, an advance booking fee and a refundable garbage deposit of 5,-€ at www.eventim.de.
