Major Lazer release long-awaited new album Music Is The Weapon!
The global dance trio Diplo, Walshy Fire and Ape Drums aka Major Lazer today release their fourth full-length album Music Is The Weapon, featuring collaborations with Nicki Minaj, J Balvin, Anitta, Khalid and many more. The band also shares a lyric video for their latest single Hell and High Water.
Major Lazer’s long-awaited record Music Is The Weapon coming five years after 2015’s Peace Is The Mission and continues to fulfill their goal of making the world smaller by making the party bigger. The new album includes songs in five languages and features collaborations with a roster of emerging artists and superstars from around the globe whom the group has encountered on their travels.
Last night the band performed an exclusive DJ set on Twitch to celebrate the album release, marking the first time the trio played together from one location on a livestream. They are also playing a series of socially distant, drive-in Major Lazer Sound System shows in the US, this month. Additionally, six Lazerism episodes launch on Spotify today that explore the album’s backstory, as well as lyric videos for each song on YouTube and Apple Music.
