Organizers of VOLT Festival have announced three new headliners for their 2020 edition, held in Sopron, Hungary this summer (July 1st – 4th). My Chemical Romance, hot off the announcement for their reunion tour, will be headlining VOLT alongside Bring Me The Horizon and The Offspring. The three bands are all seen as legends within the alternative rock scene and have been pioneers for their genre from the start of their careers.

Beloved emo-rock band My Chemical Romance returned to the concert stage last December, for the first time in seven years. The group was formed in 2001 by frontman Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier in Newark, New Jersey. After recording four albums – I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love (2002), Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2003), The Black Parade (2006) and Danger Days (2010) – the band announced its breakup in 2013. Now, they have announced a comeback shows for 2020, which sees them perform across Japan, United States, UK and mainland Europe as well, including performance at VOLT festival in Sopron, on Wednesday, July 1st.

Since its formation in 2004, Bring Me the Horizon have established themselves as one of the most enduring metalcore groups to come out of Sheffield, UK with their brooding mix of deathcore rock and dabbling in other styles such as electronica and classical. Their most recent record Amo (2019), incorporated electronic dance elements and trap production, featuring guest appearances by Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth), art-pop singer Grimes, and rapper Rahzel. The album came band’s first UK chart-topper and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.

Founded more than three decades ago, The Offspring are still one of the most famous punk-rock bands of all time. They achieved its first worldwide breakthrough with the hit single Self Esteem of their third album Smash (1994), which has sold over eleven million copies worldwide, setting a record for most albums sold on an independent record label. This was followed by albums such as Ixnay on the Hombre (1997), Americana (1998), Conspiracy of One (2000) and more. With spitfire drums, catchy basslines, and distorted guitars, in concert The Offspring delivers impassioned performances to audiences around the world. This summer they will return to VOLT festival (on Wednesday, July 1st), after long 12 years to presents new songs of their long awaited tenth studio album, as well as fans favorites like Come Out and Play, “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy), and Gone Away.

As one of Sziget’s sibling, VOLT festival is a multi-genre festival, who annually curate a killer lineup of artists spanning the electronic, urban, rock, pop and jazz genres. 2020’s lineup is already set to be filled with some of the greats, with artists Lenny Kravitz, Marshmello, YUNGBLUD, Passenger and NERVO already set to be playing in July.
