Multi-platinum selling Danish rock band Volbeat premiere the music video for their new song Last Day Under The Sun, of their upcoming record Rewind, Replay, Rebound (due to out on August 2nd via Republic Records). The video was directed by Jakob Printzlau, who has previously directed Volbeat’s videos for The Devil’s Bleeding Crown, Lonesome Rider, 16 Dollars and Cape Of Our Hero.

The new album Rewind, Replay, Rebound (pre-order here), was produced by the band’s long-time collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. For the new record they build upon the distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for, while reaching for new creative summits.

Volbeat also drew upon a myriad of guests including backing vocalist Mia Maja and the Harlem Gospel Choir, who both return after appearing on 2016’s Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie. The result of the bands touring together and a love for the singer’s gruff and powerful style is a track Die To Live, featuring Clutch vocalist Neil Fallon. Raynier Jacob Jacildo (piano) and Doug Corocran (saxophone) of JD McPherson’s band also lend their talents to the song.

The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove – not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself. We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound,” says guitarist and lead singer for the band Michael Poulsen.

He also reveals that the lyrics were inspired by a book about Johnny Cash: “When I read his book, he went through tough times with alcohol and drugs… He walked into a cave to lay down to die. But he wakes up and feels like he has been given a second chance.
