A few weeks from now, Canadian pop-punk queen Avril Lavigne will embark for a long-awaited European tour in support of her most recent, seventh studio record, Love Sux (2022). Joining her on a sold out arena run, will be a pop-punk duo Girlfriends and alt-star Phem, who will be opening the night.

Girlfriends were formed three years ago, in 2020 and consist of Travis Mills (previously known as T. Mills), and Nick Gross of Goldfinger. In October of the same year they released a self-titled debut, produced by legendary John Feldmann. Driven by songs such as California, Where Were You (ft. Travis Barker), or Jessica, the album succeed more than 46 million streams on Spotify alone. 2022 saw the release of their sophomore album (E)motion Sickness, including a standout singles like High Again, Toaster For A Swim, Missing You and Pretty Mouth. Inspired by the style of early 00s pop-punk that first shaped them, the group’s music is a vehicle for self-expression and catharsis, a means to process grief, uncertainty, and renewed vigor for life destined to connect with others who struggle.

LA-based singer and songwriter Phem first gained attention in 2017 when she appeared on G-Eazy’s single Just Friends. Since then she has been featured on and co-wrote songs with a slew of artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker, Lil Tracy, Iann Dior, Palaye Royale, The Used, Steve Aoki, Tyler Posey and more. In 2019, Phem released a debut EP Vacumhead, which showcased her unique dreamy vocals and introspective lyrics. Her first full-length record, How U Stop Hating Urself (pt. 1*5), came out in 2021. Bridging the gap between the alternative and pop worlds with an effortless grace, Phem’s music has wide appeal, but be under no illusion – she’s a rock star.

Avril Lavigne’ Love Sux European tour will kicks off in Paris, on April 12th, and will make the stops in Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Prague, Vienna and more, before storming to UK. With the London’s O2 Brixton Academy still closed, the tour is now set to wrap up with two massive shows at Alexandra Palace on May 9th & 10th.

*Girlfriends will be performing on April 12th – 26th dates only
