French rock/metal music festival Hellfest announce Ghost as final headliner of its unparalleled 2022 edition, which feature 350 acts and will take place over two weekends – June 17th to 19th and June 23rd to 26th in Clisson.

Nearly 11 years after their first-ever performance in France (on June 19th, 2011, under the late Terorrizer Tent on Hellfest), and after a memorable show in 2016, Tobias Forge’s horde returns this time at the top of the bill, for their unique European festival date.

Swedish theatrical rock outfit will perform on Mainstage 1, during the first festival weekend, on June 18th. The group led by the charismatic Papa Emeritus IV will be presenting their most recent, critically acclaimed, album Impera (released on March 11th, 2022 via Loma Vista Recordings). Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace, it’s Ghost’s most ambitious and lyrically incisive record to date. The album sold nearly 70,000 copies in the first week, debuted at #2 of the Billboard 200 and topped the album charts in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, UK and more.

Unfortunately, following bands has cancelled their appearances: The Distillers, Skinny Puppy, L7, Youth Of Today, Reverend Horton Heat, Hawser, Om, Iv and The Strange Band, Monster Magnet and Hjvelvik.
